“Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation.” Viktor Frankl
It’s nice to meet you!
I am passionate about providing a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space for growth to occur. I’ll honour your emotional experiences and will help you identify themes and patterns that may be preventing you from moving forward. When working with me, you will collaboratively work to build a strong sense of self-awareness while building a safe relationship that centers on your well-being and gives voice to your experiences.
My Approach to Counselling
My approach to counselling draws on humanistic modalities, specifically existential therapy principles. I integrate a trauma informed, socially just and culturally responsive approach to my sessions in which I honour the unique and diverse identity narratives and life experiences each client holds. I will help you explore how your past, emotions, thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours contribute to your current struggles, while exploring different ways of being that invite greater opportunity for joy, freedom, meaning and connection. With a curious and empathetic attitude, I will work collaboratively with you, at your pace, to help you find clarity, meaning and help you uncover the tools you already have within you to move through each day more authentically.

On a Personal Note
Outside of the “office” I am most at peace walking the beach, chasing my big puppy with my husband and listening to any tune that makes me feel like dancing. Despite the fact that I’ve spent nearly a decade in post-secondary education, you can’t pull me away from my books, textbooks, podcasts and audiobooks. I love expanding my knowledge and spending time developing my skills. I also recognize that many things cannot be taught in a classroom or a book and that’s why I love to travel as much as possible where I get to experience different cultures and expand my thoughts and perspectives.
